After completing Truancy 101, students will be able to:

Truancy 101 is a restorative, evidence-based course designed to help students understand the serious impacts of chronic absenteeism and take responsibility for improving their attendance. Through reflection, skill-building, and guided planning, students explore the personal, academic, and long-term consequences of truancy, identify the barriers they face, and develop practical strategies for improvement. The course equips students with tools for goal-setting, stress management, and seeking support from trusted adults, ultimately empowering them to build healthy attendance habits that support their future success.

The courses are 100% online and self-paced, which allows you to start and stop at any time to accommodate your schedule.

After the course is completed, the completion certificate can be submitted by the learner or sent directly to your court or agency staff.

Truancy 101 takes about 1 to 2 hours to complete, and learners can log in and out as needed.

When you come across a page written in a language you don’t understand, you can use Chrome to translate the page:

  • On your computer, open Chrome.
  • Go to a webpage written in another language.
  • In the top right corner, click on the three vertical dots
  • In the menu, click “Translate”
  • At the top of the screen in the new menu, click the three vertical dots
  • Click “Choose Another Language…”
  • Select your language and click “Translate”
  • The webpage should now be translated into your desired language
