As you start to plan for the new school year, it’s important to keep in mind the safety of your students. One way you can do that is to help them identify the characteristics of healthy relationships and their rights under Title IX, which prohibit sexual violence, bullying and more.

3rd Millennium Classrooms has a course called Respect & Resolve that does just that. Focused on high school students, it addresses many components of healthy relationships, including identifying coercive behavior, setting boundaries, and how to respond to conflict.

During the teen years, the brain is still developing. This means that parts of the brain that are responsible for controlling impulses, planning ahead, decision-making and judgment are incomplete. This impacts the way teens interact in relationships and respond to the world around them.

This course will help teens recognize that and develop skills to help bridge the gap. Respect & Resolve covers a host of topics including sexting, bullying, intimate partner violence, building confidence, conflict management, and bystander intervention.

Respect & Resolve also covers the importance of setting boundaries and treating others with respect. It’s crucial to encourage teens to treat others with courtesy and respect, while also accepting that they should be willing to talk things through constructively.

With Respect & Resolve can make a world of difference in a teen’s life, while training about important topics that are addressed by Title IX. Taking the skills developed in this course, teens can come to a better understanding of their own feelings and opinions, while recognizing better ways in which to handle conflict on a day-to-day basis.
